ABOUT

Hello! I’m Jake Collins, is a music director, pianist, and educator currently based in Philadelphia. I’ve had had the opportunity to work with many theatre companies and education programs throughout the Greater Philadelphia, including the Walnut Street Theatre, Power Street Theatre, Arcadia University, and Temple University. In 2022, I received my BFA in Musical Theatre from Emerson College, where I used my training as a performer to shape my approach to music direction.

My music services extend beyond the conductor’s chair – I am also an avid vocal arranger, orchestrator, and copyist. I love the process of crafting new work or reimagining old classics, tailoring each piece to an ensemble’s unique strengths. One of my main goals as a musician is to allow everybody to feel empowered and welcomed in the rehearsal room.

I strive to foster an engaging and inviting music environment for anybody involved in the musical theatre process, designers and actors alike. I am committed to an accessibility to music learning; not everybody recognizing that not everyone equal access to or knowledge of how to read music, I work to build a room in both professional and academic settings where learning music both exciting and approachable!

If you’d like to learn more about my style of music direction or have any service requests, feel free to reach me on my contact page, and I will be sure to get back to you in a timely manner!
